At Mainsail Partners, we believe in structuring an investment that satisfies the needs of company owners and management teams. We are very flexible in the types of investments that we complete and are comfortable as both a minority and majority shareholder.
We have the knowledge and experience necessary to complete the following types of investments:
- Growth Equity Investments: Bootstrapped companies may require capital to finance an acquisition, pursue a strategic initiative, or simply fund additional working capital to grow the business at a faster pace. Mainsail Partners is differentiated in our willingness to provide liquidity to shareholders while acquiring only a minority equity position in the business.
- Recapitalizations: Company owners may desire partial liquidity to diversify their net worth without having to sell the entire business. Additionally, minority or passive shareholders may seek to sell their equity while majority shareholders and management desire to retain their ownership and involvement.
- Management Buyouts: We will partner with management teams to acquire a business in its entirety from corporate or individual owners. We believe in providing ongoing management with significant equity ownership to create valuable incentives and align shareholder interests.
Mainsail Partners will always be the lead investor and have a seat on the company's board of directors.
