San Francisco, CA, September 7, 2016 —Mainsail Partners, a growth equity firm that invests exclusively in bootstrapped entrepreneurs, announced today the addition of four senior executives to its team. Stephanie Gaufin and Sandy McKinnon have joined the firm’s investment team, and Emily Azevedo and Kate Hopkins have joined the operations team for the company.

Sandy McKinnon and Stephanie Gaufin will focus on identifying and building relationships with bootstrapped entrepreneurs in Mainsail’s core segments of software, healthcare, and technology-enabled services. McKinnon previously worked at Francisco Partners, where he executed equity capital investments across software and technology-enabled services markets. Prior to Mainsail, Gaufin worked at Altamont Capital Partners, an operationally focused middle market private equity firm, and McKinsey & Company, a leading global management consulting firm.
Emily Azevedo and Kate Hopkins will work with Mainsail’s portfolio companies to recruit talent and execute strategic initiatives. Azevedo will help the leaders of Mainsail’s portfolio companies recruit executive leadership and board members, as well as help companies ramp hiring in areas like engineering and sales. Hopkins will help drive strategic initiatives, including support in product management, sales, marketing and customer success. Prior to Mainsail, Hopkins was a consultant at Bain & Company where she worked in industries including enterprise software and online retail, as well as Bain’s Private Equity Group. Azevedo was formerly an engagement manager at Heidrick & Struggles in the Global Technology & Services Practice. The additions of Azevedo and Hopkins to an already deep bench of operating professionals further demonstrates Mainsail’s commitment to helping bootstrapped companies scale and accelerate growth.
